Octoloc and CarLocate: ‘react instinctly in the event of suspicious behaviour, thanks to geofencing alerts’.

With a view to optimising the management and security of its vehicles, long-term leasing company Octoloc has chosen Echoes to strengthen the monitoring of its fleet. Marion Martin, Head of Operations, shares her experience with us. 

 

Can you tell us about Octoloc and its business? 

Octoloc is a company specialising in long-term vehicle leasing for professionals. We are based in Aubergenville in the Yvelines and serve customers throughout France, particularly in Paris and the Ile-de-France region. Our fleet comprises over 200 vehicles of various makes (excluding sports cars), leased for 24-month periods with a 60,000 km limit. 

What challenges did you face before adopting CarLocate from Echoes? 

We were looking for a solution to improve the real-time tracking of our vehicles and optimise the management of our fleet, but above all to combat the risks of theft and unauthorised removal. 

 

Why did you choose Echoes to secure your fleet? 

We were looking for an effective solution that was easy to integrate. CarLocate won us over with its advanced geolocation technology and geofencing system. We were also won over by the fact that no hardware installation was required, as this reduces costs and technical constraints. We started connecting our vehicles in October 2024. Shortly after adopting CarLocate, we were able to recover a vehicle located in the port of Marseille thanks to the system’s alerts and accuracy. This experience convinced us of the reliability of the tool, and since then we have been fully satisfied with Echoes’ services. 

How do you use CarLocate on a daily basis? 

Thanks to the geofencing alerts, we can monitor the location of each car in real time and react quickly to any suspicious behaviour. Each alert is processed on the basis of the customer’s profile and the vehicle’s location, enabling us to be more proactive in our risk management. In the event of proven hijacking, we can call directly on the CarControl recovery service offered by Echoes. 

How satisfied are you with CarLocate? 

We find the tool very ergonomic, intuitive and immediately operational. To avoid losing rental days, a vehicle should ideally be connected on the day it arrives in our fleet. With physical hardware, this is very difficult, whereas the Echoes solution enables vehicles to be connected almost instantaneously. What’s more, the Echoes teams are efficient and responsive, and even the slightest problem is dealt with quickly and professionally. 

How do you see fleet management evolving in the coming years? 

I think it’s important to try to anticipate future problems and continually improve our management methods. Today, with Echoes, we have peace of mind. We know where our vehicles are and we can react if anything goes wrong.
